Fire is one of the Bible's most enduring symbols of divine presence. It appears in covenant, worship, prophetic visions, and temple imagery.
In Ezekiel's opening vision, fire flashes among the living creatures, radiates from the throne vision, and contributes to the overwhelming impression of holiness and majesty.

Fire in Ezekiel's Vision

Fire is not merely destructive; throughout Scripture it also reveals, sanctifies, and transforms.
Editorial Note
Later mystical traditions often expand the symbolism of sacred fire. Those interpretations are valuable historically but should be distinguished from the immediate biblical context.
